MP3 Charlene Randle - Bulletholes
An amazingly cool mix of country, southern rock, haunting piano, and a kick of New Orleans flavor. Almost like a cross between Gretchen Wilson, Sheryl Crow, Sara McLachlan, and Liberace with just a touch of sarcasm. (insane, huh?).

Details:
Charlene Randle was born and raised in New Orleans, between the lower 9th ward & St. Bernard Parish. Her earliest musical memories were of sitting on her father''s lap as a toddler while he played piano & sang. Her father, the late Tony Ponseti, was raised in a poor neighborhood in the lower 9th ward, and was never given the opportunity to have "formal" music lessons, and therefore could not read music. He wrote his many compositions in numbers, which he taught to Charlene, and by the age of 4, she could sit on his lap and read his music with very little effort. He decided then & there to give his daughter what he never had, and she started those "formal" piano lessons at age 6. He frequently took his daughter to the French Quarter, where he had a radio show, and let her play tunes she had learned on the studio piano on air. His listeners were quickly hooked.
As she got older, Charlene always had the desire to perform music flowing constantly through her veins, even if it was just at home for her mom, dad, the family dogs, or just herself.
Finally, thru a bizarre, and miraculous twist of fate, she was able to get an interview with a studio producer/engineer, with the intent of making a 2 or 3 song demo. After his suggestion that she go home and try to write him a song, she returned the following week with 4 songs, complete with music and lyrics. After 1 year, a lifelong dream was fulfilled in the incarnation of her debut cd, "Bulletholes". The name, oddly enough, was inspired by the 4 bulletholes that decorated the passenger side of her old ''92 Ford F150 truck.
Charlene is an incredibly versatile mix of genres; creating an amazing combination of country, southern rock, and her native New Orleans sound, not to mention her gift of being an accomplished pianist, which puts a unique flavor into each song, and sets her apart from the rest.
Charlene has seen the culmination of that childhood dream, and the dreams her mother and her father held for her in this cd. When asked what she hoped would come of her songs, the response was "To touch people of every age. Everyone can relate to something in my songs, since they were written from the heart, and a human-nature perspective. I want people to react, and relate, whether it be laughing, or crying."
Enjoy.
