Playing 4 different instruments on the album, the depth of Bahman''s talent shines as well as the deep emotions of his songwriting...
In addition to his role as executive producer, lyricist and composer, Bahman has gathered a cast of talented players who have each put their signature sound on this versatile body of work.
The tracks include a mix of World & Fusion instrumental compositions with hints of gypsy, Middle Eastern flavors, along with a folk approach to singer/songwriter tracks such as "Wonder" and "Sun."
In the opening song "Wonder", as Bahman describes it, we are taken through the story of 2 people reflecting on their once beautiful and deep relationship... what would the two people say to each other now that it''s all over?. What could we have learned?..
... In "Sun", we are taken on a personal journey of a period of his life where he describes "a self implemented shutting out of the world"...
As the Album progresses, we are taken to different depths of viewpoints on life and the world around us as well as a look into Bahman''s own cross cultural heritage and dramatic experience escaping iran during its national upheaval.
Gypsy Nights takes us instrumentally through the experience of a family leaving everything they know and love in their beloved home country. Then, in the blink of an eye having to leave everything behind to escape the Revolutionary hands that took over the once free and beautiful Iran.
As Bahman describes it, "it wrote itself as I tapped into what I thought were lost memories of the experience of fleeing our homeland. In a dream one summers night, the memory of that time returned and Gypsy Nights was written"..
