Details:
Roger Tripp was born in Central California into a musical family. He grew up with the influences of The Rambo''s, The Hinsons, The Happy Goodman''s in Gospel music & Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, & Hank Williams in Country music.
He started playing guitar at age 10, writing songs at age 15 & his all 6 of his projects have been recorded in Nashville with the last 3 projects on a small record label. He is currently working on his 7th project with hopes of it being ready by the summer of 2008.
He''s had his own band since 1991 (Christian Country) & they play churches, fairs & other events that are geared towards a family setting. In the 90''s he released a couple of songs to Christian Country radio with "What Do You Want Out Of Life" peaking at #21 January of 1999, & "In My Next Life" peaking at #24.
In the 6 projects he''s recorded to date, he''s written the majority of the material on the projects.
He considers himself a Positive Country & Christian Country artist with a very traditional Bakersfield Country sound.
On this project, "Grandpa''s Dream" is a song he wrote about the connection between his grandfather, his mother & himself in the music business.
His grandfather wanted Roger''s mom to be a Country singer & she had started singing in bars at the tender age of 9. This is how Roger''s father & mother met, his father started playing his mother''s band & they eventually were married. When Roger''s mother turned 21 she started going to church & gave up her bar room singing.
So, basically the song speaks of how Roger is living out his grandfather''s dream for his mother, only he''s doing Christian Country Music & Positive Country Music, not drinking, fighting, etc. type of songs.
On this project Roger had the pleasure of having Leona Williams (married to Merle Haggard 1978 - 1984)on harmony vocals.
