Details:
''Lonely Nation'' is the debut album from Newcastle four-piece Jimmi Jukka, which reflects on expectations and false promises. The bands first EP JJs Luggage led to a record deal being slapped on the table, but the {to remain unnamed} labels nefarious practices made them walk out after six months in the studio. A deep breath was taken and they started again, this time working with producer Darren Hall back in the UK. Recorded at the Blast Studios (https://www.tradebit.com) in May 2007 and Mastered by Grammy nominated Brad Blackwood in Memphis TN, Lonely Nation is ten tracks of wistful indy / rock underpinned by solid beats and power chords, influenced by Primal Scream, Flaming Lips and Interpol. Jimmi Jukka is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Wayne Hilton who spent six months writing the album with guitarist Michael Welford before going into the studio with the rest of the band: Colin Davidson (Bass) and Oscar Cassidy (Drums) Selected tracks are available on https://www.tradebit.com and live podcasts are planned throughout April and May before the band hits the road across the UK. Keep watching the Myspace for dates! All 08 imagery @ thanks to Helen Errington (https://www.tradebit.com).
