Sounds of the Sumatran Rainforest (morning)
When the night turns into the day, the sounds in the rainforest change considerably. Strange cicadas announce the day break and than other cicadas and birds take over. On this 75 minutes recording, occasionally Bushy crested hornbills can be heard besides musical Malecopteron birds and staccato barbets. Towards the end there is the sound of moving branches because some monkeys travel by. The sounds were digitally recorded in the primary rainforest of Ketambe, Northern Sumatra, in August 1999, at dawn (05:50 - 7:05 AM).
