March Across the Desert - John Pridham

The descriptive fantasia was a popular style of music in the Victorian era and this is one of several I own by composer John Pridham. I find the music very cheerful, although not quite so descriptive as modern Romantic composers would probably make it. Orchestral parts were available at the time. I don't know if they still are, but I enjoy resurrecting these old fantasias from sorry looking Victorian piano scores to give them a new lease of life and I do my best in this arrangement to be close to the original in spirit although a few counter melodies were necessary obviously where the original scoring was very thin. I hope you enjoy it!
