Jana Jae is hailed by the Tulsa World as “one of the best fiddlers on the planet.” Jim Halsey of Halsey International affirms, "She is not only a brilliant musician and master of several musical styles, she is also an extraordinary entertainer.”
Jana says, “What reaches people’s hearts are the beautiful melodies that move us or set a mood. My stage show is very dynamic, with lots of upbeat, virtuoso playing, but many people ask to take home recordings of those moments in the show when the soul of the music comes through. Our new release, “Ashokan Farewell,” captures these melodies and hopefully will strike that chord within you as we share this music!”
Jana Jae has earned a reputation and large international following performing at such renowned events as the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Wembley Festival in England as well as the New Orleans Jazz Festival. She has toured Japan, the Philippines, Australia, Africa, Brazil and continues to perform abroad. Buck Owens recognized her talents and offered her a job as the first female member of his "Buckaroos" band, and she became a regular on TV’s "Hee Haw" show with her trademark blue fiddle, appearing on countless other TV shows and touring with such greats as Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Ray Stevens, The Oak Ridge Boys, Mel Tillis, Tammy Wynette, Ricky Skaggs, Asleep at the Wheel, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
At age two, Jana won a TV talent contest playing an 1/8 sized violin. Her parents studied at Juilliard, and her grandfather was a champion old-time fiddler. She studied classically, but grew up jamming with the best while living near Weiser, Idaho, site of the National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest. She won National Fiddle Championships and also won scholarships to Interlochen and the International String Congress. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in music and studied abroad at the Vienna Academy of Music.
When she felt inspired to take her unique blend of music on the road, Jana took the world of country music by storm. Jana is a consummate performer and a powerful whirlwind on stage. Her special talents have enriched the world of music. This beautiful CD is a must for those who enjoy good music!
Jana hosts 3 exciting Festivals every year on Oklahoma’s beautiful Grand Lake of the Cherokees, and travels extensively. For more info on the Festivals, recordings, and current touring schedule, visit https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com
