A short taste of Swahoogie to hold us over in the ocho.
Let’s Keep Rollin’ continues Thomas “Zeke” Krouskoff’s collaboration with Frank Enea that began with the 2005 Swahoogie release Maybe Tomorrow. This EP features three of the tunes Swahoogie has been working on in the studio recently. “We decided to put out these songs now while they''re fresh," Krouskoff says. “I’ve been working very slowly, and I wanted the music we finished to see some light while we continue working on a full length disc.”
Let’s Keep Rollin’ spotlights new musicians in the Swahoogie family. In addition to Krouskoff, Enea, and longtime Swahoogie drummer John Giamarro, Brian Newsholme is featured prominently on keyboards while Michael Tiner adds violin to one track and Joseph Sabia adds trumpet to another.
“Unlike in the past when we would come in with the whole band, each of these songs was initially recorded with just my acoustic guitar and vocal and we built the songs up and brought in other musicians as the arrangements developed,” explains Krouskoff. “I trusted Frank after our work together in the past. He knows how to get the most out of my songs and get the sounds I’m looking for. Going in without a full band this time was an exciting way to work. Beginning with the songs stripped and exposed left us free to explore different arrangements in the studio.”
