Details:
Home grown music from a kid who grew up listening to real country music on the radio with Mom and Dad, and 60’s and 70’s rock and roll albums that belonged to his Brother and Sister. In the style of Robert Earl Keen and Steve Earl, Randy’s songs are stories of life’s vitality and mischievousness, love’s promise, the payback for breaking that promise, and the sadness of losing family, friends and cherished places to tragedy or the time streaming by. At once personal, yet universal: telling the story like he was there-because he was, and sometimes he still is there. His lyrics reflect his travels through life, which have much of the same struggles we’ve all gone through. He always stands his ground for what he believes in and is not afraid to put it into song.
His singing inflects the same way he talks when reminiscing about home, hunting, fishing, and a world encroaching on what he holds dear. His songs, his storytelling, will tickle you and make you laugh, touch you and make you cry, and leave you with a feeling that you’re with a good friend having a cold beer on a hot day while fishing the banks of the St. Johns river. Randy counts among his influences; Merle Haggard, Hank J.R., Billy Joe Shaver, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, Three Dog Night, Skynyrd and many more, but he’s content having his own style of music. He’s written hundreds of songs, some covered by other artists, and had a few songs used for hunting and fishing shows. Much of his music is home based but that hasn’t stopped people around the world from relating to his music. Whether you’re an old fan or new, thanks for stopping by.
