¡Qué Cosa! is Latin Music that draws inspiration from a large spectrum of musical styles and sounds. The composers, Larry Arone and Maite Garcia, hail from backgrounds as diverse as the music you’ll hear on the album, ‘Viejo Amor’. Garcia is 100% Chilean and is highly influenced by her folkloric roots. Arone, who is 100% North American, draws from his distinctive California roots. Interestingly enough, they were both mostly raised in California in the days of "FM Album Rock" which continues to influence their writing and producing style.
The songs on ‘Viejo Amor’ hold Spanish Lyrics with honest content expressing themes of love, betrayal, social commentary, forgiveness, joy and hope. A traditional Latin Percussion Section of Congas, Timbales, Bongos and Bell combine with brass representation from Trumpet, Trombone, Sax, Flute, and Flugelhorn. Beautiful Piano montunos and lush string arrangements round out the instrumentation of the album.
Maite gives today’s Latina a fresh voice. Whether expressing a mesmerizing Bolero, a poignant reflection of domestic violence, or the dizziness of first falling in love, she proudly embraces the opportunity to resonate with the listener with an inner strength, elegance and grace. Her nurturing sound is a welcome addition to the sometimes male dominated, testosterone driven Latin music scene.
Arone and Garcia are a triple threat as writers, performers and producers. Their independent release with Dos Claves Records is everything it should be. It is polished, completely original, and undeniably catchy with artistic integrity, skilled craftsmanship, and tremendous sonic quality yielding an intimate listening experience that sparkles.

¡Qué Cosa! es Música Latina que saca inspiración de una gran variedad de estilos y sonidos musicales. Los compositors, Larry Arone y Maite Garcia, vienen de entornos tan diversos como la música que escucharás en el disco, ‘Viejo Amor’. Garcia es 100% Chilena y muy influenciada por sus raÃces folclóricas. Arone, quien es 100% norteamericano, está inspirado por sus raÃces Californianos distintivos. Como hecho interesante, ambos fueron criados en su mayorÃa en California durante la época de "FM Album Rock" que sigue de influencia para su estilo de escribir y producir.

Maite le da una voz fresca a la mujer Latina de hoy. Ya sea expresando un Bolero hipnotizante, una reflexión conmovedor de violencia doméstica, o la locura de primer enamorarse, ella acoge orgullosamente la oportunidad de resonar con el oyente con una fuerza interior, elegancia y gracia.
