The General Baptist Convention of the Northwest is presents the CD "Heavenly Brother" by the NW Gospel project. The CD was produced to benefit the Williams-Allen Scholarship Fund and release a locally produced gospel CD produced by Patrick Lamb Productions.
The project includes lyrics written by Johnny Richey, and other well-known co-writer’s from the area including Brian Ward, Johnny Sander’s, Patrick Lamb and more. The projects vision is to “Raise All Ships,” by bringing a group of well-known musicians from various backgrounds together to create the unique sound for “Heavenly Brother.” The inspiration for the project was the title, track, “Heavenly Brother,” paying tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., The CD also features a song, which pays tribute to and Mrs. Coretta Scott King as well.
Northwest Gospel Project artists include: The Brown Sisters, Linda Hornbuckle, Patrick Lamb, Julianne-Johnson Weiss, Liv Warfield, Janice Scroggins, Kirk Green, Thurtis Channel, and more.
The CD also features commissioned artwork by Ms. Diane Russell, a well-known NW artist who specializes in paintings of musicians. More information can be found at: https://www.tradebit.com
“Ninety percent of the CD proceeds go toward the Scholarship Fund to develop, over time a “Northwest Dream Team.” The goal is to generate $50,000.00 within the first 12 months. Proceeds will be split among districts of the State Convention to assist students attending college.” Said Reverend JW Matt Hennessee, Chair of the Williams-Allen Scholarship Fund and Senior Pastor of Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church.
The Greater Baptist Convention of the Northwest represents over 30 churches in Oregon and Washington. Dr. Robert C. Jointer of New Hope Baptist Church is President.
