Mozarts Requiem fur das Pianoforte zu 4 Handen
In his adaptation for piano four-hands of Mozarts Requiem dating from 1828, Czerny made his contribution to the heated discussion of the time concerning the authenticity of the original work. He made a clear statement by dedicating the composition to the Reverend Abbè Maximilian Stadler, who significantly added to the process of evaluation and collation of the various existing scores. The monumental structure of the masterpiece is highlighted by the arrangement, and Czerny, who is rightfully nicknamed the father of modern pianist technique, added a personal note to it as a composer of great piano music.
