Details:
Jose Antonio Fajardo was one of the best Cuban flutist if not the best of all times. He was a great musical composer of many famous hits in Cuba and all over the world. His style of music is called Charanga. This music originated from the French music called the "Minuet". The Charanga Orchestras, like the ones Fajardo conducted, originated in Cuba and it is composed primarily by the wooden flute which originated in France. Besides the flute, Charanga music includes violins, acoustic bass and piano, and the Cuban percussion instruments of the ''paila'', the congas, and the Cuban ''guiro''. These instruments are complemented with the lead vocals and a chorus.
Fajardo''s Charanga music included Danzon, Cha-Cha-Cha, Guaracha, and Boleros; all Cuban rhythms. This album includes all these types of rhythms and more. It is Fajardo at his best! No wonder he was known as THE HIGHEST FLUTE IN CUBA!
