Born in the Dominican Republic, Jose Alfonso Garcia was raised in Bonao, a beautiful city of the Cibao region. The child #5 in a low income family of ten members; he became a very talented and famous radio personality in his days. From 1978 to 1989 he worked for the most important radio stations in Santo Domingo the capital city of the Dominican Republic; among them, Radio Clarin, HIJB radio division of Telle Antillas TV etc. At the same time he put a lot of effort to go to college. He Graduated from Instututo Tecnológico de Santo Domingo INTEC in 1986, Bachelor Degree in Economics. He decided to work for the banking sector, being hired by the government to work for the Central Bank as a financial Analyst. Three years later, he understood that he needs other type of life for himself and his beautiful family of a wife and three children.
In 1990 he decided to leave everything behind him and came to live in the United States. That’s why two of the most beautiful songs included in his two albums, Mi Patria and Me Voy Pa’ Mi Cibao were inspired by the feeling of a immigrant that love his country and his people and dream about going back some day if the future permit it.
Here in the United States, Jose Alfonso Garcia lived in Haverhill MA for five years then moved to Lawrence. After working for 3 different local Spanish radio stations, he went to college and got a Master Degree in Education from Salem State College and Cambridge College. He was teaching in Lawrence High School for 11 years developing a great relationship with students, parents and his community as well. At the same time he was cultivating his artistic talent. He has written over 300 songs and. was signed in 1998 as a professional songwriter by J&N publishing. Alex Bueno recorded and included two songs in his first bachata album "Perdoname" and "De Madrugada” them, Monchy & Alexandra recorded "Vengo a Despedirme"
In 1999 Jose Alfonso decided to produce and release an album for himself. “Mas Alla de una Cancion" with eight pop ballads tracks and a merengue, “Me Voy Pa'' Mi Cibao" and now seven years later, he released “Bachatas Forever” with twelve tracks, eleven bachatas and a regaeton.
Bachatas forever is a high quality album intended to demonstrate that the bachatas genre can use quality lyrics without falling into the mediocrity. Bachatas Forever is a mix of the past and the present, in which the original bolero does not lose it meaning in front of a modern arrangement for a bachata.
Bachatas Forever was recorded and mixed in The Dominican Republic by professional Dominican musicians. It has 12 tracks to choose from. Great hits from the past like Perdón, Bésame Mucho and Mi Mundo tú were adapted to the bachatas genre. Vibora Mala one of the best tracks was recorded in three different versions: Bachata, reggaeton and English version. This track is the first single to be promoted. Currently is being aired by many radio stations in USA and Dominican Republic.
I just wrote my version about Bachatas Forever. The rest of the story will be written by yourself when you fall in love with this great bachatas album, and start enjoying and recommending this music to your friends.
