Hi, if you’re reading this, you have become interested in the songwriter who created the song “Hillary Two-Step”, a wonderful and uplifting tune destined to become an American classic.

I was born in America, back when America was one country, not segregated into non-geographical sectors based on race, religion, ethnicity, economics or those who don’t like the Beatles vs. those who do (I seem to be in the minority camp in all sectors). Growing up in what used to be the Midwest, before it was shipped to China and Mexico, I was just another Eagle Scout, church going, near-sighted band nerd (aren’t we all?), attempting to hold both his life and his glasses together with rolls of adhesive tape and solitarily (i.e. without girlfriend) listening to “War Pigs” and wondering about Stuff. After wandering through high school, earning grades based on riding the benches of various sports teams and playing the Euphonium, I escaped from nothing and went West to college, before the West was annexed by California, which was in turn taken over by Mexico, using profits from the Midwest. This might be ironic, ask your English teacher.

After graduating with a triple major in Foosball, Juggling and Using a Bic Lighter Without Burning the Thumb, I set out on my career of cutting down lots of trees and ruining the virgin and picturesque landscapes of large areas of Colorado, participating in the building of the Great Strip Mall that runs from Fort Collins to Pueblo and, soon, all the way to Albuquerque, whose city flag must bear the image of a plastic grocery bag stuck to a cactus waving in a dusty breeze, broken beer bottles in foreground (brown on beige on brown).

A veteran of the Psychedelic Wars of the 70’s and the Great Synthesizer Battle of 1981 (there are still a few surviving drum machines) I followed the attempted murderers of Rock & Roll, secretly dead people like Jackson Browne and Suzanne Vega and not so secretly dead people like Dan Fogelberg and Jerry Garcia, until receiving enlightenment from Devo one Saturday night (I am not Steve). My mother, obviously slightly askew, bought me a guitar around this time and the rest will someday be history. Other musical influences include Simple Minds, Slow Children, and the Misfits, not the bands but people who fall into these archetypal categories. Since I’m a lousy poet and guitar player, and I’m kind of old, I’ve chosen folk singing as my genre.

In the coming months, expect to instantly love these future classic tunes:
Amnesia (the very best of diseases)
Teach your Cockroaches Physics (all folk singers need an anti-nuclear anthem, it’s a rule)
There’s No Such Thing as a Good Racist (In which everyone will feel insulted)
It’s Just Business (You’ll be taken out and shot)
Suicide is Dangerous (Blues in E)
Officer Meads (I ain’t been drinkin’ much)
Isn’t it Funny (They’re doing all this while they’re waving our Flag)
Ice-T (Pigs do fly)

And, unfortunately for you, many, many others.

Please do not hold my work against the great people at Ghostwolf Productions and Wolfmoon Publishing. Go to their site and buy their stuff, it’s really good.

Also an unprolific and unpublished writer, I’ve been charged by YOU KNOW WHO to write the next three books of the Bible, in which it is revealed that Leviticus was just a weirdo pervert, that it was John of Patmos and not Albert Hoffman who invented lysergic acid, and that the Promised Land is Boca Raton and not Jerusalem (a mistake easily understandable once you get that HE operates outside Space-Time (they do almost rhyme, sort of)) thus, through the power of the mechanical pencil, solving each and every one of the world’s problems. Be sure to not look for these real soon!

That’s right, just by buying my work, and getting all your friends and family to buy it (sort of like spreading a virus), you help to bring about world peace (but not quiet).

FOLK ON! (the opposite of which is….)
