Andrew Lapp, son of Loren and Liz Lapp, is an eighteen-year-old twelfth-grade honor student at Sarasota Christian School. He began studying the piano at the age of seven with Laura Spaulding, his teacher for the past six years being Sandra Lawler. Andrew’s music training also includes theory with Betty Hines, pipe-organ with Carol Hawkinson, and violin which he plays in his church orchestra. Since he was in middle school he has been the accompanist for his school touring choir under the direction of Christine Ayala. Andrew has taken master lessons with several noted teachers, among them are Dr. Marc Silverman, Chairman, Ms. Rebecca Penneys, and Dr. Kevin Orr of the Manhattan, Eastman and U of FL Schools of Music respectively. In his spare time Andrew composes and arranges and has made several CDs of these and other works. He appears frequently at social and church events in the area
performing repertoire from a wide range of literature including the classics, ragtime, and his own arrangements of sacred music.
