"Silver & Gold" was a big hit for Dolly Parton in 1991 & was co-written by Carl & his two sons, Stan & Greg at a time when Carl was recovering from throat cancer. I think if you listen to the words we're going very deep into the Perkins' psyche, uncovering his deep spiritual & religious feelings. This track is lifted from my gosepl album, "Jesus Even Loves Cowboys" which I recorded in 1995.
