This is honest country music with a sense of humor!
Born in the Texas panhandle, reared on the Brazos River, rodeoed all over North Texas. Bill Nash knows what it means to be a Texan. That honor and heritage stays with you for the rest of your life. He is thankful that country music at the time he was going to school had a major impact in his life. There was an outlaw movement in the music scene and it came at you from every direction. It was the time when on the same station during the same hour you could hear Merle Haggard, Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys, Moe & Joe, and Waylon & Willie. The Dukes of Hazzard was on TV every Friday night when Waylon sang "Just A Good Ole Boy" many times during the hour. He lived on the back roads and tried as hard as he could to drive just like the Dukes. It stays with you.
As the 80''s progressed they stopped playing the good country and it got replaced. Mostly with songs that just repeat a sentence over and over again until you fell asleep or changed the station.
After about 15 years of thinking country music was dead, a few friends turned him on to the Texas Country/Americana scene and it was an exciting discovery. There are so many good storytellers and tale spinners of music that is not only inspiring but also relevant to the genre. He couldn''t believe that there was this much honest country music that existed but was not present on most radio stations.
He had some thoughts about what he liked about the music and quite rapidly began to write some clever songs that make you listen. He began honing his craft at open mics and campfire circles. Things were starting to come together. "Campfire circles are a unique opportunity to play with some major recording artists and get instant positive feed back. That''s where it dawned on me that I could do this."
Eventually he was encouraged by a popular studio engineer to work with producer and Texas Country recording artist Tommy Alverson on his first CD project "Paved Away".
"Paved Away" features eleven original songs written by Bill over a period of about a year.
"It was rewarding experience to work with this group of phenomenal musicians. The CD turned out incredible!"
Bill is very thankful of the fans, friends and families positive feedback on the project and hopes that you enjoy it and request it at your local country station.
