Details:
Patrick Ferreri is a well known and highly respected musician in the Chicago area. He enjoys a rather eclectic musical life: one day performing on the classical guitar, and another performing on some form of Pop or Jazz guitar. He has performed on thousands of recordings for Radio and Television commercials.
Mr. Ferreri was a member of the American Broadcasting Company Staff of Musicians for eleven years. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (both as a classical guitar player and as a Pop and Jazz guitar player), the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, the University of Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players, the Lyric Opera Orchestra, the Chamber Consortium, the Chicago Chamber Choir, the Music Of the Baroque ensemble, and numerous orchestras in accompanying ballet performances.
Besides enjoying a wide range of musical activity with the classic Guitar. Mr. Ferreri also performs on a wide variety of "fretted", stringed instruments. He has played the Jazz mandolin with trumpeter, Doc Severinsen, the electric jazz guitar with singer-pianist, Michael Feinstein.
In arranging and improvising upon the twelve melodies of the ten tracks in my CD album entitled, "Patrick Ferreri Expressions of Love," I strove to reflect my never-ending delight in them.
The composers of these tunes must have known that musicians would enjoy these melodies, the elegant logic of their construction, the sentiments of their lyrics, and their beautiful chord progressions – then, now, and for generations yet to come. I am certain that they also knew that many musicians would wish to re-harmonize and adapt them to their own styles and artistic interpretations – respectfully done.
My goal, in making this CD album, was to insert additional chords and free counterpoints sparingly and in a manner that leads smoothly to each composer’s original chords. I believe that I have accomplished that goal, and I am grateful to the composers of these songs for having given me such inspiring and uplifting music with which to work.
I hope you enjoy my interpretations – my “Expressions of Love” – as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Other Recent album recordings on which I have been featured include: (1) Embrace the Wind, REALMUSIC cassette and CD, solo classic guitar and clarinets, playing the music of composer, Larry Wendt), (2) Three Penny Opera Suite / Kurt Weill, JOHNSON digital CD, recorded by the Chicago Pro Musica (an ensemble of players from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), and (3) Monteverdi Vespers Of the Blessed Virgin, digital CD, recorded by the Music Of the Baroque ensemble.
I, Patrick Ferreri, and flautist, Arthur Lauer, have recorded a duo CD album, entitled Debussy, de Falla, Delightful, which is available on the REALMUSIC label. The album features duets which range from the music of J. S. Bach to that of Claude Debussy. All of the transcriptions featured on the album were made by Patrick Ferreri, and are published by Ferreri Publications.
