This new album, Angels Will Carry You Home, was created in response to grief. I saw so much grief around me and I wanted to write gentle songs that would be positive and spiritual and healing.
Three close friends of mine had passed over a month apart -- all Vietnam Veterans. We were raw with emotion. Gold Star mothers were weeping over the loss of their soldier children. Friends were getting divorces. Life just seemed unbearable to so many.
And we did it. We actually managed to make foot-stomping happy music that will carry you through to the final song, "All Is Well" and leave you knowing it, singing it, and believing in miracles! All is well. It really is.
