Details:
With powerful vocals, searing guitars and a thundering rhythm section Bombasticide returns with their sophomore effort, “Scratch”. Part concept album, very eclectic and all rocking “Scratch” turns many corners and explores practically every vista in rock music while effortlessly innovating some uncharted territory. From the thundering open of Baby Girl through the final track, the optimistic and poppy Meadow there is, for lack of a better term, bombast. Along with the ten original tracks on this thirteen song opus are rock interpretations of the electronica classics “Battle Flag” by Lo Fidelity All Stars and “Born too Slow” by the Crystal Method as well as a true to form and off the scale version of “Purgatory” by Iron Maiden. The original tunes hold their own as the level of songwriting has been highly elevated over the last two years. This disc contains everything from heavy metal and hard rock to spoken word and indie pop. Masterfully produced by Marc Miller and executed with precision by John Dolan Russell, Art Bromage, Ian Miller and Dave Delzotto, “Scratch” will be supported by copious live gigs throughout 2008 around the Seattle area with some shows stretching out to Portland and hopefully Southern California.
