The release of Question Mark marks the culmination a two-year period of writing and performing these and many other tunes in clubs and jazz festivals throughout the mid-atlantic. It also marks a new beginning with Russell and Steve. I''ve know Russell since the late 90''s but had never had the opportunity to play with him until November 2006 when we began performing together and recording this record. Since that time he, Steve Hall and I have had many great times, playing concerts, gigs and recording in whirlwind bouts. A lot of the camaraderie that developed during those intense sessions resulted in a CD that truly records the genesis of the new trio; with all its intensity, trepidation, integrity, and joy. It has been a great pleasure putting this CD together; we hope that you enjoy the result.
