Details:
Raised on a family farm in rural Kentucky, to God fearing, and very religious parents, Terry learned the meaning of hard work, and the love of the Lord at a very young and tender age. With the nearest neighbor almost a mile away, the only things to do were to work, hone his skills as a musician, and study Gods word. His family instilled the need and desire to attend the Lords'' house, whenever the doors were open. At the ripe old age of 12, he became the youngest Sunday school teacher and song leader the church had ever known. He amazed the older congregation with his knowledge of the bible. As the years passed and Terry grew in size, age and at the time what he thought was wisdom, he drifted away from his roots and raising to head out on the road and make his mark in the music world. Traveling, playing music, and sharing the stage with many legends and hall of famers at the time, forgetting what was and should have been most important in his life, the Lord. "I sure took the Lord into a lot of places he really didn''t want to go" says Terry, "but he never left me. If only I had looked over my shoulder, I would have seen the Lord standing there crying. As the years passed Terry came back to where he always needed to be. "I know the Lord had a plan for me," he says. "If not I would have died a long time ago." So with a renewed spirit, a renewed hope, and forgiveness, Terry has finally come home. Back to where he always should have been, safe in the arms of the Lord. With his new 13 song project, "Solid Ground", He brings the music full circle. " The Lord had been after me for years to do this" he says. "I always found excuses. I don''t have the songs, I don''t have the time, I don''t have the money. (But all things are possible to them that love the Lord.) "He gave me the songs, he made it possible for me to borrow the money, and he helped me find the time to get it done." When ask if it was any good, Terry simply replied, "You''ll have to ask the Lord, It came from Him, it is His, it has to be good. Along with his wife Michelle, Terry spends lots of time writing, and performing. "She is the one I go to when my brain stops" he says, "hers never quits, so she will always help me out of a brainfreeze." A quote from Terry says exactly how he feels about life, his music and the direction he is heading. "The Lord has given me a new purpose, a new direction, and a partner in Michelle to help me accomplish the task at hand. I may not be perfect, but in my heart, I know that I am forgiven. And I am cleansed in the precious saving blood that Jesus shed on a cross. Thank you Jesus for loving and forgiving a sinner such as me.
