This unique Dutch group from Northern Holland plays original folk music sung in their local dialect of their home province Groningen, and played on bluegrass instruments plus accordion. “There are some especially enjoyable passages where the mandolin and accordion play instrumental breaks in unison, a surprising good marriage of sounds.
But the band stays melodically and thematically close to bluegrass. It’s good to hear foreign the bluegrass idiom to celebrate not the Blue Ridge Mountains (which they’ve probably never seen) but the places and people dear to their hearts… a must have item for collectors of foreign Bluegrass.
