Press Release October 2005:
Singing the blues - with a little help from your friends.
Teddington lock keeper, Dudley Tyrrell is taking on the music world- with a little help from his friends.
Ferry Road, an album of personal songs, features Art Wood - Ronnie Wood''s brother, Keith Grant and Don Craine of the Downliners Sect and Pete French of Leafhound, on several of the tracks. Percy ''Van'' Gough, who has jammed with Blues Incorporated and Rod Stewart, also makes an appearance on mandolin, together with drummer Mark Freeman, who played with John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett.
Dudley, who has played alongside his friends on harmonica at Twickenham''s rhythm and blues Eel Pie Club, was inspired to create an album of his own compositions in his spare time, after meeting up with media composer and producer, Rick Cassman, formerly signed to Pete Townshend''s Eel Pie Records label with his band Straight Eight.
"I regularly play acoustic guitar gigs in the area and got talking to Rick about recording some of my own material," explained Dudley, influenced by American folk and often compared to Bob Dylan in style and sound.
"The album''s got a little bit of everything in it - folk, rock, and a tinge of blue-grass which is why Art and the other lads were perfect for it - they''ve been brilliant."
Ferry Road is out later in the year. Dudley Tyrrell and the Deputies will perform songs from the album at Ealing Town Hall, Uxbridge Road, Ealing W5 on October 20th when they support The Downliners Sect at a charity concert for Oxfam. Tickets available from: ebay at: Oxfam Music & Audio, 23 The Green, Ealing W5 5DA. Tel 020 8810 1932, cheques payable to "Oxfam Music & Audio"
