Details:
I was born and raised in the midwest (Indiana and Michigan) to artistically talented parents. My mother is a painter/art teacher and my father is a musician (singer, trumpet player) who decided to enter the teaching/athletic coaching profession.
I discovered a huge love of music and started playing the guitar at age 13. I had been a featured soprano soloist in my church choir when 9-10 years old.
I spent my high school and college years immersed (no pun intended) in the sport of competitive swimming.
Upon graduating from Michigan State University in 1972 with a BA degree in elementary education I entered the coaching profession.
In 1980 I became a musician. In 1986 I went back to coaching also earning a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology. In 1992 I decided that playing music is what I should be doing and have been a full time professional musician ever since.
This recording, "Three Day Rain," is a departure from the blues music I usually write and record.
