MP3 International Orality Network - Making Disciples of Oral Learners
Learn how Christians can communicate to the two-thirds of the world’s population who cannot or do not read. These “oral” communicators best receive and process scriptures through memorized stories.
Details:
StoryRunners, a mission of Campus Crusade for Christ, uses the power of spoken Bible stories to convey the transforming truth of the gospel to people for whom stories are a foundational part of their lives. This innovative storying approach employs people’s heart language and learning style providing them with an oral set of the Scriptures — in the same way Jesus did when he walked the earth (Matthew 13:34).
StoryRunners'' strategies and training techniques are field-proven throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America to equip workers to reach out to unreached peoples in their own country and across borders.
One of the partnerships co-created by StoryRunners is the International Orality Network (ION). Many members of ION were also part of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization''s 2004 Forum in Pattaya, Thailand September 29 to October 5, 2004.
There were 31 Issue Groups at the Forum. The Issue Group on Making Disciples of Oral Learners was Issue Group No. 25. This group produced Lausanne Occasional Paper (LOP) No. 54 and the next year ION and the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization released Lausanne Occasional Paper as the book "Making Disciples of Oral Learners".
