DeLon''s new album, "GIT" is his third album. The title song is a great up-tempo song about the difficulties of getting attention from the record and publishing companies on the famed "music row" in Nashville.
Fresh off a 33-week run on the Joyce Ramgatie "top 200" total airplay chart in 2006 and 2007, this album and its songs are sure to propell DeLon back to the top fo the charts once again!!!!!!
This album is dedicated to the memory of DeLon''s long-time friend and fellow Christian of over 30 years, the late Skeeter Davis, who passed away on September 19, 2004, after a courageous battle against cancer. DeLon recorded his version of Skeeter''s biggest hit, "IT''S THE END OF THE WORLD" on this album, also as a tribute to her memory.
"STANDIN'' IN THE GAP" is an up-tempo song, bringing in the names of past country stars, who have passed on, along with great song titles, so that we understand how important the "golden age" of traditional country music was and is. And, the writer of the song, DeLon, says he is "STANDIN'' IN THE GAP" and will continue to sing the good ol'' sounds of traditional country music.
"HEY ALBUQUERQUE, HEY KANSAS CITY" is a very up-tempo song and you are going to really enjoy this song.
"I REALLY DON''T WANT TO KNOW/THE LAST WORD IN LONESOME IS ME" was recorded as DeLon''s tribute to the great musical sounds of both Jim Reeves and Eddy Arnold. Both of these men and their music, were the main influences upon DeLon and the style of music he enjoys performing. So, DeLon combined these two great classic songs into one song.
"BURNED TWICE BEFORE" is simply a song about a person, who has lost in the game of love and is looking for that special someone, whom he can trust and to whom he can pledge his love.
"OLD COUNTRY--NEW COUNTRY" is an up-tempo song suggesting that both the old sounds of country and the new, modern, contemporary, pop sounds of country can still get along, coming out of Nashville. The record companies just need to realize that there is still a market for the more traditional sounds of country music.
"HAVE YOU EVER LOST SOMEBODY?" is a song written for the many people, who have experience the loss of a loved one, but gives a very positive solution as to how to remember that special person.
"YOU GAVE ME A MOUNTAIN" is DeLon''s version of this classic song, written by Marty Robbins. DeLon has performed this song in his live concerts many times.
"DO THE RIGHT THING" is a song written about a young teen-age girl, who finds herself pregnant. The title of this song is the signature saying for a syndicated radio talk show host, Dr. Laura. Excerpts of this song often are played on her radio show.
"WHEN I COME OF AGE" is simply DeLon''s song about growing up in a small town in Iowa, and thinking about what is "over the next hill". In other words, leaving the security of the home area and getting out into the world to see what is going on. This is a very up-tempo song.
"THE LOTTERY MILLION-AIRE" is another up-tempo song and is the story about a man, who has not much of this world''s goods, but decideds to take a chance on the lottery. He wins it, but there is a surprise ending to the song.
