Details:
This CD marks the third release featuring pianist David Glass and his first solo CD of original compositions and improvisations. David has developed a unique style yet the music displays marked influences ranging from contemporaries such as pianist Cyprien Katsaris, Keith Emerson, Bill Evans, Keith Jarret, and George Winston to the classical roots of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Ravel. This music will take the listener on a journey of the soul with all the vibrance and reflective nature of a brook on its journey to the sea.
David Glass is fluent in many styles of piano music and has performed throughout his career, predominantly as a classical pianist and has received compliments from listeners that include the Prince of Nepal, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, and actors Bill Cosby and Robin Williams.
He received his undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Ma. David did his graduate work in composition, film scoring and electronic music at San Jose State University, CA.
In 2006 David released his first piano solo CD of the rarely recorded Liszt transcription of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, “The Pastoral”, which may be the American premier recording. In 2004, David collaborated with pianist Francis Martineau and released their CD “On Course. Improvised Piano For Four Hands”, which was followed by a series of live concerts on the west coast of the US. David is scheduled to perform a series of concerts in Europe and the United States in 2008 to promote his latest recording, "Beginning The Journey".
