If you enjoy a melodic style that brings all the sentiments of family life together in song, you will enjoy this CD of easy listening songs with all your heart.
Details:
Having grown-up in an Italian family in the 50''s I have strong sentimental ties to the Family Unit. This is truly expressed in my music. I place these Family Values above the daily challenges of modern-day life and so-called lifestyles. The first song is dedicated to my mother who had worked so hard to raise seven children in an era that was much different than today. The Depression, World War Two and the loss of her first child at 18 months were just some of the major challenges she faced. The song was first sung to her when she was in the hospital in 1980. She wasn''t expected to make it much longer. When the nurses and other visitors heard the song there wasn''t a dry eye around. She lived another 15 years and finally learned how to work a cassette player as she played it over and over.
The other songs on the CD reflect my feelings toward my family--my wife and two children as well as my Catholic upbringing. The Father''s Prayer was sung by teachers of my local elementary school for twenty years---the lyrics were changed slightly to "A Teacher''s Prayer". It was also published in the New Jersey Music Teacher''s Magazine (Tempo). "A Soldier''s Prayer" was written while I was in Vietnam (1966) and reflects my prayer that seeks God''s help. As a part-time musician, I performed at numerous ceremonies and functions at the ELKS--They do fantastic deeds for Veterans, Disabled as well as the Needy---This is my tribute in song.
I taught Music for 30 years in a public school in New Jersey and became First Sergeant of the 63rd Army Band New Jersey National Guard. I am currently retired but still continue performing locally.
