This work is a collection of stories recalled by those who lived them through 1872 to 1900, forever captured in the recording of the 1951 Franklin Family Reunion and seven related songs, the classic traditional Dixie and six others written by the Great Grandson of Jason and America Franklin. Each song for each of the seven sons of Jason and his father Pernel Franklin.
It is dedicated to the enduring legacy that flows through the veins of The Franklin Family of Southern Georgia. It is a testament to and for all humanity that share the same path. To preserve Family as a highest form of value.
Becky Morehouse Franklin, like her Grandmother America is very proud. Becky has a way of clearing the deck. I’m sure her strong will is inspired from of a lifetime of experience that most of us can’t begin to imagine. She is very proud of her family. In her words I would like to quote, “The Franklin name was bright with honor when we received it and it is our sacred trust and duty to pass it on unblemished, a shining light to guide the steps of those who come after us. There is no higher loyalty then loyalty to the dead. They are not here to chide us or to praise. We are on our honor so to speak, but you can be sure that all these friendly spirits watch our faltering course with highest expectations. This is a challenge that I place before you. that we live faithful to all that is good and true,”
