Abilene Christian University has long been known as "The Singing College." The ACU A Cappella Chorus is one of the oldest such groups in the Southwest. Each member of the 180 voice ACU Alumni Chorus is a former member of the ACU Choral Department. The group meets regularly to record concert works and arrangements of traditional hymns and spirituals.

Dr. Jack Boyd, the conductor of the ACU Alumni Chorus, is a noted conductor and arranger with over 250 concerts in 46 states and several foreign countries. Over 125 of is original compositions, arrangements and scholarly editions have been published by over a dozen publishers.
