Singer/songwriter Cynthia Lin is a compelling new artist who can simultaneously channel the old world charm of Ella Fitzgerald, the passionate delivery of Jeff Buckley, and the folky honesty of Joni Mitchell, and yet still create a unique voice of her own. At a petite 5''2", the Asian American performer/vocal coach leaves audiences in awe that such an irresistibly rich sound can come from such a tiny vessel. For Cynthia, the song and the voice are one - together they surge to unexpected heights and fall to unconventional refrains, perfectly complemented by an elegant fingerstyle on acoustic guitar and crisp, poetic lyrics.
Since the release of her debut EP Blue and Borderlined at New York''s legendary BB King''s Blues Club in January 2005, Cynthia has become a regular on the regional touring circuit, playing respected venues including Uncommon Ground in Chicago, IOTA in Arlington, VA, and Jammin Java in Vienna, VA. She has supported major acts including Vienna Teng, Doria Roberts, and Kevin So, and has just been selected to perform at Toronto''s NXNE Festival this June. The singles "Sketches" and "Sing My Song" have been featured on DC radio Z104''s Capital Scene, and "I''m Shy" was chosen as a https://www.tradebit.com Editor''s Pick. Constantly crafting, Cynthia plans to release her next album in early 2006.
