Crystal Senter Brown is originally from Upper East Tennessee and has been performing since the age of 6. In 2001, she released her first cd "Bee''s are admired". She followed up with her next cd in 2004- Easybreezybeautifulcoloredgirl" She released her third project "MOJO" in September, 2005.
Crystal was born into a family that includes a graphic artist/ teacher (mother), a bass-playing Baptist pastor (father) and a singer songwriter (brother.) Crystal and her brother have written several songs together including "Patiently" and "Change of Seasons". She collaborated with Springfield, MA producer Jarreau Pitts of Beat City productions her third cd "MOJO."
Awards and nominations include: a 2002 Massachusetts Artists grant for her work in the community, a 2003 Artist grant for her children''s book "Osirus" and a 2005 nomination as best singer by the Valley Advocate.
Crystal''s most popular songs/ poems include "Large and Lovely", "Chunk" and "Fatgirl". All three songs uplift women of larger statures. She encourages women who are plus sized to love their bodies, but to make sure they are taking steps to be healthy.
In fact, Crystal stays active by taking belly dancing classes!
