Details:
Country music is where this all begins. The country music from another generation influenced by The Great Depression, foreign wars, family, love, and memories. We are the grandchildren raised on Johnny, Patsy, Waylon and Hank. This is Mice and Rifles.

It all started with a few drinks at a drag king show in downtown Austin, Texas. August 2005...

Longtime friends Patrick Estrada and Kevin Brinkkoeter, both from New Braunfels, Texas, began kicking around the idea of putting together a band with some songs Kevin had written. The evening ended with tears, an obscene gesture at a bar, and a possible band. This is a true story but most of it is highly inappropriate.

Mice and Rifles played their first show in February of 2006 with friends Maneja Beto in Austin, Texas. They were invited to perform a SXSW party at Ohm Studios and producer Brandon Tucker invited the guys back to record.

June 2006, Mice and Rifles headed into the studio with Chico Jones and Brandon engineering the project. They recorded "All Kites Up" in two days. The fall was spent mixing the EP with Brandon and John Mason, eventually being mastered by Jim Wilson at Airshow Mastering in Colorado. The release date was set for December 15th at Stubb''s.

The CD release was a great way to close 2006 for Mice and Rifles and the Austin Chronicle mentioned them as a Top 10 Austin band to watch in 2007.

2007 has been a leap forward for the guys. They established themselves as a solid live act and made their first festival appearance at The Big State Festival in Bryan/College Station,Tx. https://www.tradebit.com
