Dan "Dano" Lancelot has been performing professionally for the past 24 years. He is a featured artist at SeaWorld San Diego performing steel pan & percussion. Performs standards and originals with Deuterium Jazz Quartet on drums. Performed on drums with Skunk recording artist Slightly Stoopid on the 2001 Van''s Warped Tour. Performed on drums and backing vocals with RCA recording artist Gloritone touring the United States and Canada.
During his travels to the West Indies Dano rediscovered his interest of the steel drum. Remembering his early years in New York where he and his father would enjoy the steel drummers performing in the streets of Manhattan, Dano was once again captivated. Shortly thereafter, while working as a salesman in music store a steel pan was brought in on consignment. Knowing that it was a rare opportunity, Dano purchased the steel pan and began to study Calypso music forever changing his musical path. Along with his love for Reggae and Calypso music Dano''s experience with Rock and Pop influenced the theme of his two releases “Pan in Paradise” and “One Drop Pop.”
Currently Dano performs throughout Southern California playing steel drum, percussion, and drum-set and provides atmospheric entertainment at SeaWorld San Diego as their featured steel drummer. He composes, records, & produces music for television and movies and offers private instruction for drum-set and steel drum.
Additionally, Dano enjoys and is inspired by Sting, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Sublime, Weezer, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shaggy, Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Slightly Stoopid, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Boogsie Sharp, Harry Connick Jr., Miles Davis, Carlos Jobin, Andy Narell, 311, Oasis, Henry Mancini, John Barry, Monty Norman, Tito Puente, John Williams, & Byron Lee and the Dragonaires.
