In 2002, after the first five tracks were completed, the musical part of my life took a back seat to more pressing matters. I never had a chance to create any further work for ''Ambia'', and the project was dead...until 2007.
The music to ''Ambia'' and the concept of the album had been one of my favorite projects to have worked on, and it has stuck in my head all the years away from it. While not one who normally listens to my own work often, I have been unable to escape the dark beauty created in this album. Years later, deciding the five tracks alone were truly wonderful pieces in their own right, I felt the need to release these five works despite the album being only about 30 minutes in length.
The music perfectly creates the ''light vs. dark'' atmosphere that I had wanted as the concept of this album. ''Ambia'' refers to a place that may or may not exist. A place (or the imagination of one) that is both beautiful yet solitary, a place that is at once lush paradise and at once possessing a moody, foreboding darkness.
And when the album ends...were you sleeping or awake? Was the beauty and darkness imagined or real? Was it a journey of solitary despair or was it a lush, vivid dream?
