Cynthia Preston , a 25 year old Danbury native, grew up with music, and it shows through the unique maturity of her writing style. Any attempt to categorize her may fall short, but she has been compared to Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams and Sheryl Crow. With both parents as singer-songwriter''s, Cynthia has been performing since she was 5 years old. Cynthia''s mother would have her up on stage at concerts to sing You Are My Sunshine . At the age of 12, Cynthia''s father started bringing her to open-mic''s and coffee houses. When she was just 14 he gave Cynthia her first guitar and she hasn''t put it down since.
The Cynthia Preston project was born in February of 2004, after a friend of hers mentioned that a local band was looking for a vocalist. When Cynthia sang for them for the first time, everyone felt a connection. She is very excited and grateful to be playing with such talented musicians as Chris Cacciato, Dave Fusaro, Americo Carrasco and Mike Leary. She says, "If being a band could be compared to being in a relationship, then I am head over heels in love."
