Details:
Xample is a group of devoted and gifted young Christians who genuinely believed that their lifestyle must be reflected in the songs they sing—and that the songs they sing must testify of their love for God.
The group consists of six talented, Spirit filled individuals:
Gary D. Ellis Jr. (who also plays the keyboards), Nia Williams, Jennifer Perry, Genesis Ellis, Shekinah Ellis, Gabrielle Ellis, two additional musicians (Nadar Cade: Bass and Anthony Taylor: Drums)
They are members of the Abundant Life Outreach Center in Clarksville, Tennessee, where they are all very active in Youth Leadership, personal evangelism, outreach, prayer ministry, and the music ministry.
Despite many pressures today’s young people face, they serve as living witnesses of both the life changing power and keeping power of Jesus Christ.
In 2006 Xample released their hot single “Awesome God” and has just released their debut album “Hold On to Your Dreams” which proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ over tracks that are street credible in production and singing that is relevant to today’s young people and appreciated by older generations. Their unique blend of praise and worship, contemporary, pop, and urban Gospel has proven to bridge every generational and cultural gap in each venue creating the climate of excitement and worship that brings every audience enthusiastically to their feet.
Xample was formed in 2001 and has been actively engaged in writing, performing and ministering in song both locally and in various cities throughout the United States.
Xample has opened for Smokey Norful, Maurette Brown Clark, CeCe Winans, Karen Clark Sheard. Xample has also been featured in several concerts, television programs, and many public civic events including performances for the City Mayor, Tennessee’s Governor, the Commanding General of 101st Airborne Division, Annual River-Fest, Rivers and Spires and many other civic events.
They have performed at “Focus on Jesus Live in Miami,” Apostolic Restoration Conference, Man 2 Man Conference, and many churches and events both local and around the country. Xample is the first place winner of the 2005 Gospel Music Association’s regional song and performances competition in the Urban Category and placed third in the GMA’s Music in the Rockies 2005 in the Urban Gospel Category.
Each member of this group possesses a shared ambition. “To be ‘an example’ for today’s youth and declare without shame—that young people can live pure and holy lives and bring glory to God in both word and deed.”
