MP3 Shaun Devlin - Central Standard Time
Alternative Country
11 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Alt-Country, COUNTRY: Americana
Details:
Shaun Devlin is a veteran country musician, playing largely traditional country music. This is his first CD and features 11 of his original songs in a traditional and in some cases bluegrass-oriented vein. The songs range from light-hearted tunes (Koochiching County, I Was Planning to Call You) to reminiscences (Live a Dream and the title track Central Standard Time) to hard core down on your luck numbers (Mary Left the Farm, I Miss You.) All feature the keen observational lyrics and wry twists that are one of Shaun’s trademarks.
Shaun was very fortunate to have the very accomplished Nashville veteran Bobby Nicholas produce the album. Bobby is a member of the renowned Sidemen featured at the famous Station Inn, and served stints in the bands of Patty Loveless and Terry Clark. Bobby also plays a number of instruments on the album. Check out Bobby’s talented and tasteful playing, for example his guitar playing on cuts from the album like Koochiching County and his dobro playing on These Blues. Joining Bobby on instruments are Amber-Dawn Rische and Frank Rische of the band Jypsi, which will soon be releasing its debut album with RCA. Amber Dawn plays fiddle and sings some wonderful heartfelt harmony with Bobby on many of the songs. Helping out on instrumental chores, including some lovely twin fiddle parts with Amber-Dawn,and doing a fine job on co-mixing and on mastering was Kurt Storey, a regular with Mark O’Connor.
