Details:
Chokeslam is a Heavy Metal Band from Chattanooga, TN. Expect in your face, down your throat stomping tunes and high-energy live shows. Extra Tasty Spine cracking Guitar, Double- Bass Grooves, Thunderous Running Bass, and Throat- Crushing Vocals set Chokeslam above the rest.
Lineup:
Chokeslam consists of four members:
Troy Gray on Vocals, El Jefe'' on Guitar, Tim Gray on Drums, and Frank Robinson on Bass.
Goals:
Chokeslam is heavily involved in writing, recording, and performing heavy metal and hard rock music. Chokeslam is searching for a Record Company to take us under their wing and fork out some bucks to get us heard throughout the nation. Of course, going along with that, put Chokeslam on the road warming up such acts as Shadows Fall, Old Mans Child, Overkill, Black Label Society, and Black Sabbath and pay us good money for our effort and talent as songwriters and performers. Chokeslam has paid dues for many years and has three albums and numerous accolades and videos to show for it. Chokeslam has up to forty extra songs ready for vinyl, just no money to put them out. Film and TV Music Supervisors and Ozzfest coordinators would be very interested in Chokeslam.

Biography:
Chokeslam formed in 1997. The lineup consisted of Cris Kines and El Jefe'' on Guitars, Jody Swygert on Bass, Tim Gray on Drums, and Troy Gray on Vocals. Due to conflicting work schedules, Jody left to join Pistol Whip. Tim, Troy, Cris, and Jefe'' kept the core together and moved on with Chokeslam with El Jefe'' filling in on Bass.
In 1999, Chokeslam released their first EP entitled The Killer at Richie Norton''s Digital Underground in Chattanooga, TN. Chattanooga radio immediately put Chokeslam on the air with tunes such as "180 Grit" and "I''m Gonna Be Your Killer". Chokeslam started building a huge following in Chattanooga and throughout Tennessee.
By the year 2000, due to more conflict in work schedules, Chokeslam restructured with El Jefe'' on Guitar where he belongs and Adam Evitt on Bass. Chokeslam then recorded their first full- length album entitled Chokeslam with Richie Norton. Chokeslam was released in May 2001. Once again, Chattanooga and surrounding areas radio immediately started playing Chokeslam. Fans have created anthems from songs such as "Atom Bomb" and "CS 420".
Shortly after the release, Chokeslam had some conflicts of interest. Adam Evitt was replaced with Frank Robinson- Bass extra ordinaire and long time friend. Thus, giving Chokeslam what is their most powerful team of friends, musicians, and writers to date. Chokeslam hit the road in support of their new album with great response including Milwaukee Metalfest XVI.
While honing their skills on the road, Chokeslam continued to give 100% effort to please Chokeslam fans. Chokeslam''s fan base grows steadily month after month.
Long time Chokeslam fan and friend: DVM Production King- Jon "Chapman" Phillips shot the video for "Cold Throat Magician" at The Bay in 2002. It was constantly voted #1 video on FUELTV.
In the year 2003, after constant touring, writing, practicing, radio shows, and learning, Chokeslam was awarded the trophy for Best Metal Band by CIA Music Awards. Each member was also nominated in their respective categories for their efforts.
Throughout the year 2004, Chokeslam recorded their next album at Audio Alchemy with Brian McKutcheon. Constant legwork, touring, and ability gained Chokeslam a sponsorship from Jagermeister and an invitation to perform at Chattanooga''s 2004 Riverbend Festival. Then to close out the year, Chokeslam was awarded their second straight Best Metal Band trophy by CIA Music Awards.
In 2005, Chokeslam has put the finishing touches on their long- awaited follow- up album entitled Hillbilly. The album contains eleven strong offerings including an excellent cover of Charlie Daniels'' "The Legend of Wooley Swamp".
Chokeslam has been compared to such acts as Mudvayne, Slipknot, Black Label Society, Anthrax, Flotsam and Jetsam, and Rob Zombie.
