The Alan B Shepard Memorial Orchestra is the creation of and fronted by Los Angeles singer/songwriter John Ramey. The Orchestra''s debut album ''Flying Blind'' was released in October 2006. John''s songwriting, heard live by countless Los Angelenos since 2000, is often compared to George Harrison and Tom Petty. His other influences include David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, and Wilco. In addition to his songwriting, John has performed and/or recorded with The Sin City Social Club, The Sin City All-Stars, Walkie Talkie, Dave Insley and His Careless Smokers, Travis Howard, Dave Phenecie, Merle Jagger, West Coast Grand, Anne McCue, and Grant Langston & the Supermodels. John''s non-musical passions include eating, drinking, smoking, sex, reading, travel, baseball, rural Mexico, historical Los Angeles, and cheap motorcycles.
