Details:
Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1976, Kemmitt was raised in the rural New England town of Ashford, Connecticut. Playing guitar since age eleven, he has been writing songs for over a decade. Also, living all over the south including places like New Orleans, Tallahassee and the mountains of North Carolina, Kemmitt fosters a unique folk sound cultivated from distinct cultural flavors from all over the east coast.
"..Raised on Bob Dylan, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Kingston Trio, Kemmitt''s music is reflective of traditional folk fueled by the fiery influences of Ani Difranco and melancholy longing of David Gray. A highly technical guitarist, his influences draw heavily from Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dave Matthews and Ani Difranco. Deeply poetic lyrics take listeners on travels to cities across the globe. Tribal beats and bongos add elements of a world beat familiar to later Paul Simon projects..." --Johnny Fire
