MP3 Bruce Scism - Guide Me Home

Lyrics that paint vivid pictures with strong melodies over chord changes that keep the music fresh, interesting, and alive.

9 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Americana, FOLK: Modern Folk

Details:
Born and raised in North Carolina, Bruce and his wife raised a family of three kids in Illinois where two of the three continue to live - the third returning to North Carolina drawn by the warm salt breeze of the Atlantic Ocean. With their kids grown, he and his wife spent a number of years in Chicago and now reside in the Houston, TX area.

Bruce picked up his first guitar in the 60’s – inspired by the sounds of Peter, Paul and Mary, the Kingston Trio, Donovan, Bob Dylan and the Beatles. More contemporary influences include Lyle Lovett, Kelly Joe Phelps, Chantal Kreviazuk, Fiona Apple, and great Texas songwriters such as Bruce Robinson, Townes Van Zandt, and Shake Russell.

A strong sense of melody with lyrics that paint vivid pictures for the listener capture the heart and essence of Bruce’s songwriting. Frequent collaborators include his wife, Beth, and good friends Gary Best and Shane Rogers.

Two Hearts is "A cool retro country two beat ... in the vein of Bob Wills meets Lyle Lovett....a classic country song...good melody over some cool chord changes on a swinging country groove.... [A] vivid picture of waiting at the train station and hoping that love has not passed you by ... very encouraging and clever ... a solid country song." TAXI

Two Hearts: Simple and great … like the old school songs of yesterday. It really has such a calming soothing feel … [g]reat progressions throughout but especially in the chorus, very fresh and exciting. I love this song. Really nice.......great work. SongU Review
