Mannyman ---------The Electronic Music Artist
>
Our artist was born in January 15th,1961 in Havana, Cuba. He began his interest in music in his mid-teens. His first performance was before a live audience back in 1978 while still in High School in Chicago, IL. It was the High School''s First Annual Talent Show where he performed live on stage the song "Teddy Bear" by Elvis Presley. After receiving a standing ovation for his performance, "The bug", as they call it in music business began in his life.
In 1979 he moved to Miami, Florida where he pursued the entertainment industry but ran into a few hard walls and was forced to put his music talents aside. In 1981 he decided to try his luck at an acting career so he enrolled in Miami-Dade Community College and began to study acting with the "New World Center Stage Players". He performed in such plays as "The Young Veterans", "Portrait of a Madonna" and the musical "See Saw". He also had some small parts in such movies as "Absence of Malice" and "Blood Money". He later worked with Philip Burton a teacher, writer and actor on the production "An Interpretation of MacBeth", performing the sound effects, which was a complete success.
In 1982 he moved to Houston, Texas where he wrote most of his musical lyrics, poetry and short stories. It wasn''t until 1985 when he returned to Miami, Florida and reunited with his cousin, a classical guitarist from Spain. Together they quickly began working on many new songs and formed a band named "Raw" and played small gigs at various venues. The band broke up in 1988 but he and his cousin still played on until an unfortunate accident left his cousin unable to perform again.
In 1992 Mannyman recorded his first single "Forever". It was released on Hollywood Artist Record Label and was performed by Stephanie Allen. The single did quite well and the royalty checks began to roll in. Then sales began to slow down and he found himself in debt. He returned to work on regular low paying jobs, mostly warehouse work and delivering of goods. His music career was once again taking the backseat.
In the Winter of 1994 he enrolled in the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale with interest in Music and in the Visual Arts. He began his classes in The Music and Video Business program offered by the college.
In June of 1994 he won an award for Best Electronic Recording for one of his singles named "Men at work". It was an experimental piece but an affective one. In March of 1995 he won another award for Outstanding Special effects on a 4 minute short story presentation which he helped write, produce, star and, shoot with other fellow students.
He released another single called "Blue Skies" sang by Charles Clark, on Hollywood Artist Record Label as part of a compilation with other artists but this album was a total flop.
In 1998 he began to experiment more with electronic music sounds and the PC quickly became his best friend. Suddenly there was no need for him to pay for long expensive hours of recording time in the studios and finally had full control over his music.
In 2000 his first CD, "Open Your Mind to the New Millennium" Vol. 1, was released exclusively on https://www.tradebit.com.
