Exceptional version of a great song from the past with a great production by Cherry Ridge Studios. Ronnie Caywood, singer / songwriter / guitarist teamed up with a great Texas vocalist and recorded "My Elusive Dreams", great song by two of the greatest voices to be heard in Texas.
Ronnie Caywood, raised in Rockdale, Texas, began entertaining professionally in his early teens and continued while in college. During a stint in the army, and while stationed in Germany, he entertained for various military functions and has played with several top bands.
His love of music, along with his talent and fantastic voice, led Ronnie to develop his own unique country style and he is fast becoming one the hottest rising stars in country music. You can find Ronnie performing in venues all across central Texas and the hill country, including venues in Gruene, Georgetown, Piano Bar in Rockdale; Hondo''s on Main in Fredericksburg; Double D and Comfort Café, Comfort, TX.; Pontchartrain Grill, Kerrville; Riley''s Bar-B-Q, Dripping Springs; Salt Lick Bar-B-Q, Driftwood; and Las Palapas, Leon Springs, and singing open mic at the Poodie''s Hilltop Bar and Grill in Bee Cave, Texas, as well as many private events. He has showcased on various songwriter nights in Nashville, including the Holiday Inn, Bluebird Café, and Tootsie''s Orchid Lounge.
Ronnie was recently interviewed on OCRN (Original Country Radio Network) by owner, Larry Simpson who actually played a big part in Ronnie''s re-entry into the music business. Thru Larry, Ronnie met his friend and mentor, Mark Trail, who has put an extreme amount of time and effort into promoting Ronnie''s music in the U.S. and abroad. He was also interviewed by Rodney Allen of WCRR and by Bill Gregory / Art Cunningham of KRXT in Rockdale where his songs are being played from his new CD "Bringin'' It Back". Ronnie''s songs have also been heard on KVET in austin, OCRN in Ft. Worth, and throughout Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
Ronnie recently participated in a relay for life benefit at Hondo''s on Main in Fredericksburg, Texas and continues to play for benefits statewide when the opportunity presents itself. The benefits are very dear to his heart having lost a brother to cancer. Having served in the military, Ronnie knows what it means to hear from folks back home and recently donated a number of CDs to the troops in Iraq.
Ronnie has just completed a CD entitled "Bringin'' It Back" recorded in Nashville / Austin that was released in July 2005. The CD features two of his original tunes, a song written by Mark Trail and Razzy Bailey, and several cover tunes.
He is also featured on a Mark Trail Music compilation CD that was released in late March 2005 with an original tune called "I''d a Played Here For a Dime" which is doing quite well in Europe and the U.S. Ronnie is also featured on Mark Trail''s MTM #11 which was released in late May with an original tune written by Razzy Bailey and R.N. Bailey titled "Late Night Honky Tonk Country Song", and on Mark Trail''s MTM #12 which was released in late July, 2005 with an original tune called "She Moves Me". Ronnie will also be included on Mark Trail and Dave Schmidt''s 2005 Christmas CD, Ronnie also just completed recording a duet, "My Elusive Dreams" with Pauline Reese, another great Texas singer that will be released as a single in September. The duet will be released in mid September 2005 and will also be included on Mark Trail''s MTM #13 compilation September release. He recently received honorable mention in two national songwriting contests, with his first two original tunes. Ronnie is also scheduled to participate in a TV special that will be aired in the fall of 2005.
Ronnie''s strong vocal abilities and engaging stage presence allow him to entertain audiences with a wide voice range of cover tunes from such artists as Roy Orbison, Van Morrison, Ray Price, John Hiatt, Marty Robbins, and Delbert McClinton to Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, who have all been a tremendous influences in his music. His crowd-pleasing tunes range from country and alternative country to a little country rock, rockabilly, blues and easy listening. Ronnie''s distinctive performance style allows him to entertain virtually any audience. Comfortable in front of all crowds, large or small, in both public and private settings, he consistently offers excellent entertainment and remains true to his Texas music.
Ronnie lives in central Texas and is a member of the Austin Songwriters Group, a member of BMI and My Texas Music, and is listed in the 2005 Texas Music Directory. He is a member of the Austin Federation of musicians and an associate member of the Academy of Country Music. He is also featured in an article in the April 2005 issue of Texas Rising Star Magazine out of Comfort, Texas; in an article written by Ken Esten Cook in the Rockdale Reporter, Rockdale, Texas; Canada''s Country Music News recently did a review of "Bringin'' It Back". Ronnie will also be featured in a country music magazine out of France.
