Dreaming Tree is a collection of my lyrical demos. The lyrical topics range from love, suicide, Alzheimer’s, faith, grace, and forgiveness. I do not consider myself a songwriter, but a scribbler. I hope you find a few of my scribbles to be worth listening to. Various Demo Production Companies, featuring various artists and genres, composed this collection with me. I would love to hear the thoughts you have on this demo.
Goodbye Takes Forever To Say is a song about the death of my sister by suicide. We had many questions of why? what if’s?, and finally trying to find peace in her decision.
Memories Gone is written from the view of someone suffering with Alzheimer’s. Many changes occur both mentally and physically. The need to feel loved is constant and never changing even if they are unable to express their feeling.
Stars In Heaven and Stars That Shine In Heaven are different version of the same song. It is my simple way of saying Thank You to the firefighters that died September 11, 2001. You will never be forgotten.
Dreaming Tree was written for my two nieces. Their dad died at a very young age. At the time, my sister-in-law was pregnant and the oldest was 4. The oldest recalls some memories of her dad, the youngest never knew him. I just wanted them to know that he loved them very much and he will always be with them.
One Today has been describe as a “bluesy, sexy fun song of love”.
Angel Of My Dreams was written for my wife’s 40th birthday. She started having the “turning 40 insecurities”. My way of letting her know she was the one I still dream about.
Sin is a simple song about the fundamentals of sin. It is something we all do no matter what we call it. Each of us will eventually face the physical consequence of our sins, but…..
Sunday Morning Me is how we consciously and subconsciously make decisions that lead us into sin even though we have the best intensions of living a “righteous life”.
Don’t Give Up On Me is about the struggles we all have, even the Apostles, of either being “of” the world today or “in” the world today.
Storms depicts the severity of some of the trials we go through which build our faith, also remembering we are never given more than we can carry.
??Common Sense?? is an up beat, abstract lyrical song. It is how the world throws so much “stuff” at us, that does not make sense, mixed with truth we have in our hearts.
Enduring Promise is a fast tempo song of salvation.
