Details:
MPG: Mobile Performance Group is a collective of new media artists interested in finding new ways to present art outside of traditional venues. The group was founded by creative director Matt Roberts, who was later joined by music director Nathan Wolek in leading the group. The group is based at Stetson University in DeLand, FL.
This package includes both a CD and DVD with 4 tracks born during 2006 performances at ISEA and Conflux. Working as a collective, MPG presented mobile and improvised audiovisual performances using sounds & images gathered specifically from each festival location. These improvisations became the basis for the subsequent studio work that produced the CD/DVD project.
Each music track is stylistically different, drawing from influences in house, ambient, techno and soundscape. Together with the video they provide a compact introduction to what MPG is about and glimpse into what it is like to see MPG live.
