"It''s not like I''ve been an overnight sensation !" chuckles Miles Cain from his home in York, England. He''s got a point.
Miles has been working at his music since 1989, when he met friend and musical ally Syd Egan. The pair discovered an affinity for John Mellencamp, and began swapping tapes of artists such as The Alarm and The Clash. They formed a band, aptly names TRASH, the same year. "We were lousy !" laughs Miles now.
But some things in life take time, and 18 years later Miles Cain has released what could be the best work of his career, the new album "A Way Of Being Free". Taking his cues from American and Canadian heroes like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Bruce Cockburn and Joni Mitchell, Cain''s songs switch from the happy-go-lucky "Stay With Me Til Summer" to the brooding paranoia of "A Man Outside Your Door". In every track there are great hooks and some fantastic playing from Miles'' backing band of hand-picked musicians from the York area. "It''s a great piece of work," says Miles. "I''m really proud of it." The album will be released on Monday, 30th April 2007. For more information, please see https://www.tradebit.com
