Details:
Frank Scarangella, 27, is from Savannah, Georgia, where he was raised on a prosperous cotton plantation. Forsaking his bourgeois upbringing, Scarangella joined a band of wandering minstrels known as the Fairfield Four.
Traveling though the south, performing the works of Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe, Frank gained an appreciation for country living, in particular a fondness for bluegrass, work songs, and the blues of the Mississippi Delta. An ill-fated performance of Tamburlaine the Great, however, left Scarangella in a deep coma, and much of his proceeding years were marked by a series of difficult rehabilitations.
Today, Scarangella writes for an emerging online publication called Wine Dork NY. He plays mandolin and sings with the folk duo, wolfeboro.
Mike Stein, 27, is the son of a riverboat gambler and part-time dart champion who spent much of his early years working a variety of odd jobs: loading cargo off of trucks, rudimentary air conditioning repair, and making soap.
At the age of sixteen, Mike was presented with a rare 1940 Gibson J-55 acoustic guitar, which his father had accepted as payment amid a week-long blackjack binge. The guitar was subsequently destroyed in a deadly warehouse fire whose origins remain unknown to this day.
Today, Stein teaches English at Herricks High School in New Hyde Park, New York. He plays guitar, blows a harmonica, and sings with the alt-country duo, wolfeboro.
